T-1 and Fractional T-1 Dedicated Internet Access

This type of connection provides your business with a dedicated, 24/7 connection to the Internet delivered over either a point-to-point circuit or via Frame Relay service depending on your specific requirements. A T-1 is a dedicated Internet connection supporting data rates of 1.544 Mbps.

T-1s require a device to convert the signaling from that used on the T-1 into signaling that can be used by a router. This is known as multiplexing and the equipment required is commonly called a multiplexer; and is also known as a channel bank, CSU/DSU or T-1 card.

Fractional T-1 (speeds of 384 kbps, 512 kbps, or 768 kbps)
